8 Mini Theatre Reviews

8 Mini Reviews

A Knife at the Opera

A talented singer, a talented pianist, yet the outcome of the two together was disappointing. If I had been 8 years younger I think I may have found this show entertaining but at the age I am I found it cringe worthy and couldn’t get out the theatre quick enough.

Anomie

Impressive set, dynamic movement and interesting sound but I still didn’t like the piece, maybe due to the lack of narrative meaning I couldn’t emotionally connect with it.

A Night at the Pantomime

Educational yet thoroughly entertaining. If I come out of a performance singing the songs it’s a sign I’ve had a good time……..”Baked beans, custard, macaroni cheese and chips. Slop it in, slop it out, slop it all about the kitchen…….”

Gig

A very experimental, imaginative piece. I personally found the movement sequences went on to long and were to repetitive.

After Miss Julie

A really gripping piece of drama, I could really feel the tension between the characters, which made it an exciting theatre experience. I would highly recommend this production.

The Pitman Painters

A fantastic realistic set which started dark and grey but by the end of the play was brightened by the colourful paintings, reflecting how the painting really changed the miners lives, for the better.

Disney’s Beauty & The Beast

A production of West End standard. A mixture of colour, excitement and magic, capturing the child within us all.

Dick Whittington

From the baddy to the fairy godmother, the beautiful maiden to the hero, no character had been left out. A funny and enjoyable night, just want you want when going to the pantomime.
